The SEW 470 standard is a German technical standard entitled "Hitzebeständige Walz- und Schmiedestähle" (High-temperature-resistant rolled and forged steels), published in February 1976.
SEW 470 – range:
- Chemical composition: The standard specifies the permissible ranges of alloying elements such as carbon (C), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn) and others, which determine the heat-resistant properties of steel.
- Mechanical Properties: It specifies the minimum values of tensile strength, yield strength and elongation for individual steel grades in various delivery conditions.
- Product forms: Includes metallurgical products such as sheets, bars, pipes and profiles intended for use in high-temperature conditions.
SEW 470 standard – sample steel grades:
- X10CrAlSi7 (1.4713): A ferritic heat-resistant steel with aluminum and silicon additions, resistant to oxidation at temperatures up to approximately 800°C. Used in the construction of industrial furnaces and apparatus engineering.
- X10CrAlSi18 (1.4742): Ferritic steel with 18% chromium content and the addition of aluminum and silicon, resistant to high temperatures.
- X10CrAlSi25 (1.4762): Ferritic steel with high chromium content (23-25%) with added aluminum and silicon, resistant to oxidation up to 1150°C. Used in the energy and metallurgical industries.
- X8CrNi25-21 (1.4845): Austenitic chromium-nickel steel, resistant to oxidation at temperatures up to approximately 1050°C. Used in mechanically stressed parts and components operating at high temperatures.
Application of the SEW 470 standard:
The German technical standard SEW 470 is used in the energy, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgical industries, where materials capable of operating under extreme temperature and environmental conditions are required.
Comments:
It should be noted that technical standards are subject to updates and changes. Due to the harmonization of European standards, some steel grades may now be classified according to EN standards such as EN 10095 or EN 10088-1.
When selecting materials for specific applications, it is recommended to consult current standards and materials science experts.
Check other steel standards according to PN, PN-EN, DIN, GOST, OST, ASTM, AFNOR, AISI and others
